Shandi Rooney, the owner and creator of Studiomixx, received her B.S. in Exercise Physiology. She has an extensive background in Anatomy of the Human Body, Cardiopulmonary, Biomechanics, and Skeletal Muscle Physiology. Shandi created the Mixx technique after working with the best in the fitness industry: Jackie Warner, “The Workout” and Jillian Michaels, “The Biggest Loser”.
The Mixx technique is a series of exercises preformed in a specific sequence to give participants long lean muscles while preventing any “bulk”. The sequence involves strengthening exercises, followed by a lengthening exercise and cardio interval training.
As a mother of two small children, Shandi understands the importance of a quick effective workout that targets the entire body in one hour. Her philosophy is simple, Work hard, always change up your workouts, and push past the point of comfort to get maximum results. Shandi has a unique style of teaching. She will push you until you think you can’t do another repetition, and then she will convince you that you can actually do 10 more and you do! Non threatening but extremely powerful, her love for the Mixx technique is present in every class as she puts so much detail into developing new and cutting edge workouts.
